 Ten reasons why Isaias Afeworki and his henchmen should be charged with crimes against humanity

10- For violation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights by arbitrarily and routinely arresting, torturing and extorting thousands of parents for no other reason than their children fleeing the country.

9- For violation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights by arresting over 2000 university students and exposing them to extremely hot temperatures in a prison camp that has no shelters, insufficient water supply and no medical treatment for victims of this barbaric act.

8- For violation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child  by forcefully recruiting children under the age of 18 to the military and involving them in armed conflicts.

7- For violation of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights by resorting to Mass arrests and denying basic services to seniors who are over 60 years of age for failing to show up at military training camps.

6- For violation of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights by punishing prisoners of conscience for over 14 years without due process of law, seriously endangering their health and in almost all cases keeping them in inhumane conditions till they die.

5- For violation of Universal Declaration of Human Rights by perpetuating widespread and systematic arrests and torture directed against people of certain religious groups.

4- For violation of Universal Declaration of Human Rights by continuing the Shoot to kill policy to prevent people from leaving their country and denying them their rights to enter and exit the country of their origin as they choose.   

3- For violation of the Declaration on the Elimination of Violence Against Women by allowing widespread sexual abuse of young women conscripts, violating their dignity and their fundamental freedoms. 

2- For violation of the Forced Labour Convention and the Abolition of Forced Labour Convention by subjecting military conscripts to slavery, unfair compensation, indefinite and involuntary service and abusive forced labor.  

1- For violation of the United Nations Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment by controlling the people through extreme cruelty, routine arbitrarily arrests, torture, disappearances, extrajudicial executions, forced confessions, holding people in Nazi type death camps, housing people in overcrowded metal containers in temperatures that reach over 95 degrees, extortion, fear and limiting basic services.
