Ms. Elsa Chyrum, Director of Human Rights Concern-Eritrea is the Founder and Director of Human Rights Concern Eritrea (HRCE).

She is a world renowned human rights activist and advocate for Eritrean refugees all over the world.

Ms. Chyrum closely works with Amnesty International, UNHCR, Reporters Without Border, Human Rights Watch, CSW, Eritrean Civic Societies and other organizations to raise awareness of the human rights situations in Eritrea and to assist Eritrean asylum seekers who are threatened with deportation. This part of her work is not only for those in the UK but involves working for Eritrean asylum seekers detained in Malta, South Africa, France, Sudan, Italy, Libya, Zimbabwe, USA, Canada, Egypt, Ethiopia, Sweden, Saudi Arabia, etc.

She lobbied at the Human Rights Council in Geneva, to highlight the egregious human rights violations in Eritrea; and for the establishment of the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Eritrea and a Commission of Inquiry to investigate Eritrea's human rights.

Ms. Chyrum been internationally recognized and received numerous awards for her tireless work.
