Eraero, the true meaning of betrayal against Eritrea!
(Response to ‘Ambassador’ Tesfamariam Tekeste)

Yeleba ayne dereq meliso lib yaderq! By the time we are all done here these goons I am going to exhaust my entire Amharic proverbs list! If PFDJ officials weren’t so utterly stupid, how would the world have believed us that they probably were handpicked for their dimwittedness?

This week it was the Eritrean Ambassador to Israel ( he last time I saw him he was being heckled off of a stage in Tel Aviv… and he doesn’t seem to have learnt his lesson that business isn’t as usual for PFDJ!)… Mr Tesfamariam Tekeste left me peering at my laptop thinking in disbelief ‘you are bloody joking aren’t you!!?’… invited to address a public meeting he opened his mouth and put his foot in it right away! He wanted the NGOs and the Eritrean refugees excluded from the meeting… someone had the point to him that he was not in the republic of Wadeya! And it was down hill for him from that point!

It wasn’t lost on anyone there that he has no experience of transparency… hell the poor sod has no experience of a parliament either… after all last February marked the 10th anniversary since the last time the Eritrean assembly met… the average YPFDJ was about 11 (deleted: comment regarding mental age!). The average warsay in exile (that I have known and worked with) was about 14…and the average separated refugee child in mayAyni wasn’t even born!

When the ‘Ambassador’ was told that: it might be wise to hear what NGO representatives had to say and that he may even find they actually agreed on certain issues he  replied that all NGOs were a problem when it came to the migration issue at hand… like master like slave! PFDJ have perfected the art of adopting IA’s idiotic utterances (verbatim) as creed and mantra that it has now become like listening to a series of robots in suits!

… when he realised that he had no choice but to put up with responding to the people that have become victims of his government’s barbaric brutality and the NGOs that have taken to literally picking them off of the streets that they have finally landed on, he switched to plan B which was to completely disregard all etiquette of grown up interaction when talking to Eritreans… and became disparaging, obnoxious and an absolute brat (PFDJ charm at its best…as I said above once you see him you have seen them all!)… and so when my friend Issias Tekle-Berhan confronted him by being a walking talking result of his government’s mismanagement of everything Eritrean…and drove a few truths home… all he had to say was: ‘Thank you for betraying your country’.

That is what made me think…’yeleba ayne dereq meliso lib yaderq!’ (I am sure there is a Tigrigna equivalent here)… of all the things that PFDJ have done to us the one unequivocal violation is their violation of the trust of the Eritrean Public… the mothers (like Issias’ grandmother), who accepted their children’s martyrdom and consoled themselves with the realisation of ‘independence’ their daughter’s (Issia’s friend’s mothers) who swallowed the bitterness of their children perishing needlessly!

The men and women who languish in PFDJ’s network of jails is I suppose according to the stupid goon of an ambassador not betrayal unparalleled by anything humanity has ever seen…! for crying out loud he should be the last person to use the word betrayal and least of all to a young person (the son of people that have paid the ultimate price- their life for their country!), who spent seven years of his young life being carted from one prison to the next for daring to trust PFDJ and expressing himself in writing!

The Ambassador knows Issias well enough and he knows his compatriots have been betrayed by him and the government he represents not once, when they decided to sacrifice them in a war they later called ’senseless’ (Badme 1998)… not twice when they  stranded them in a merciless desert that colonial powers used to punish murderers (weA 2001)… not thrice when they corralled them like cattles and denied them all basic rights (Sawa 1994 to present)… but endless times as they continue to betray them daily and  even when they have survived merciless deserts, and brutal traffickers and dare to look them in the eyes and ask’ how about change now?’… I really don’t know what it takes for a man of Tesfamariam Tekeste’s standing to sleep at night… I suppose he is too busy counting his 30 pieces of silver! God I hate PFDJ!!

There are few certainties in Eritrea at the moment…the most significant ones are these: PFDJ is an enemy of the Eritrean public and must go! And there isn’t a single young Eritrean that doesn’t know that PFDJ days are numbered (sorry but YPFDJ goons are an anomaly and don’t count here!… a friend calls them ficho Hibretesbna! I agree)… So Mr Ambassador (and all of you robots and cardboard cut-outs surrounding IA’s dying ember), please note that we have no appetite for your game of fancy words… you betrayed the legacy of our martyrs, you betrayed the hard earned victory of our heroes… you betrayed the trust of our parents and you betrayed the Eritrean Dream!

and you also betrayed your own friends! Mr ‘Ambassador’ I note that you said that you turned down the option to become a doctor because you had the guts to fight for Eritrea, you know what? (in the words of JK Rowling): “Then you should have died! Died, rather than betray your friends!”

Before you use the word ‘betray’ ever again I suggest you visit EraEro!

I know I have said it already but:  God I do hate PFDJ!
